Samantha Rae is warm to those she meets, loyal to those she loves, and passionate about her craft. She spends quite a lot of time engaging in epic imaginary adventures with her seven-year-old and is currently writing a musical about Nehemiah, just for the sheer fun of it.
She gets embarrassingly excited about making binders and spreadsheets but kicks off her shoes nearly anywhere and has been known to “spread out like a bomb exploded.”
Samantha wrote her first novel between the ages of 10-12. Like many authors, she has a deep love for reading and spent many hours devouring stories in her childhood. At some point, she realized, if she didn’t want a story to end, she only had to keep writing it. At age 23, she read a Christian Fiction series that transformed her relationship with God and gave a whole new purpose to her writing.
However, while writing has always been her strength and passion, she learned a lot about the craft of writing, in the hardest way possible. For a long time, she wrote in a vacuum and didn’t seek community, critique groups, or feedback. She threw endless queries at the brick wall that is the current Traditional Publishing Industry and reworked and reworked and reworked until she finally realized the value of connecting with other writers and taking a course or two!
At any rate, no season is wasted, for in her endless revisions she discovered her love for editing. Now, she can confidently say she adores every stage of the novel-writing process, which is a pretty good place to be as an author!
After placing as a finalist in two literary contests back-to-back for unpublished fiction, Samantha finally feels ready to pursue a new stage of the process—Indie Publication!
